The first script I'm sharing with the Loose Cannon Media community is the first script I ever wrote. It's had a few names since I finished it in 2009 (actually December 31, 2009, just hours before the most epic New Years Eve party we threw at the Palatine House), and "Nothing is Lost" is definitely a working title.
The story is about Ryan, and spans his high school years to his mid-20's. It's a drama, with some comedic moments. I originally wrote it with popular music throughout the script, but have since taken all of those songs out in the current draft. I was most inspired by the film "Garden State", and strangely enough, "Lost". There are a lot of flashbacks as his life unfolds, to deepen your understanding of Ryan and those in his life.
Today I'm sharing with you the first 11 pages of the script. We open on Ryan in his mid-20's, lost in a life he's not sure why he has. He doesn't' enjoy his job, and it's affecting his performance. We also meet two close friends, a couple he spends a lot of his free time with.
The document is posted below, but if you don't have access to it, feel free to click on the link. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the first 11 pages of this script. Feel free to comment below!
"Nothing is Lost" Part 1
In every post, I'll be featuring a person or company that deserves some attention. I'm excited for who you are going to meet!
Brooke Griffin- Griffin Studios, LLC/ Silver Screen Weddings
I met Brooke when I did a Google search for video and film professionals in the Seattle area. I found her Griffin Studios, LLC website, and was impressed with her featured work. We set up a meeting at a Starbucks, and talked shop for a while. We both agreed to collaborate on future projects, and as a result she was the cinematographer on my short film "Pause!". I was impressed with her professionalism on set and technical skill behind the camera. I was really happy with the resulting footage.
Brooke is also an exceptionally skilled wedding film professional, and you should check out her work at Silver Screen Weddings. If you or someone you know are getting married, I highly recommend hiring her.
